Whitney Rehr learned Spanish as a second language through the immersion model living in and attending university for a Spanish degree in Spain. She began her pursuits as foreign language teacher during this time and taught English to native Spanish adults at beginner, conversational and business levels. As a bi-lingual advocate for children and families in Denver’s non-profit sector for over 20 years, Whitney has maintained her Spanish through daily, practical usage, both spoken and written. This has proven to Whitney that consistent, daily and relevant usage of a secondary language is what enables a person to really integrate it, think in it, and dream in it! For the last 10 years Whitney has worked primarily in Early Childhood Education research addressing the needs of ELA/ELS students and working in the classrooms as bilingual Spanish/English, music and yoga teacher. Whitney is excited to instruct Spanish, to children of all ages, using the tools of Language Wonderland’s creative and effective immersion curriculum.
